Roland Demo Day - Saturday June 5th

Roland Demo Day @ Young America Music School:
Coming Saturday June 5th

YAMS will host our first Roland Demo Day on Saturday, June 5th. We'll be featuring performances by Macon's own Matt Moncrief as well as the Mosely Dixon Project (all of whom teach at the store).

After the performances the guys will split out and demonstrate, along with Roland rep Dan Quisenberry, a whole slew of interesting gear from Roland, Boss, and Edirol.

Tom Rule will be talking about keyboards & combo amps & music technology in general,
Mark Williams will demo Roland's electronic drums and the Rock-Band compatible software that's available,
and Bobby Hall & Matt Moncrief will talk guitars and Boss effects pedals.
Dan Quisenberry will float, answering all those questions the other guys can't answer.

We're trying to talk Dan into doing some of the killer demo stuff he does - we hear he's incredible!

We’ll have 2 sessions:
one from 11:00 to Noonish,
and the second from 1 - 2 pm(-ish!).

No registration needed – but please share the word on Facebook, email, or tell a few people. It’s sure to be fun!

(oh, yeah – free hotdogs, too!)

Each backing style has four intros, four main patterns, and four ending progressions for you to craft your own arrangements live.

In addition, the GW-8’s Center Cancel function can minimize main vocals from pre-recorded songs, great for karaoke-style performances or music practice.

Also included is the Playlist Editor for customizing the order of songs. Users can easily create a dedicated Playlist for each gig.

The GW-8 is the next generation of Roland’s unique GW-Series workstations with intelligent backing-track functionality. With its fresh, contemporary sound-set and expressive interactive musical styles from pop to rock, plus authentic ethnic styles and a multi-format USB Memory Player feature, the GW-8 will bring a world of music to your fingertips. Casio Privia @ YAMS

We now carry the Casio Privia 88-note weighted digital pianos. This is the keyboard that Tom - one of our piano teachers - recommends for families who only have around $500 to spend on an instrument for their beginning piano student. He says, "While it isn't as good a piano action as a grand piano, it's darn good for $500 - and it only weighs 20-something pounds, AND has a headphone jack! I can play classical on this keyboard, and that's saying something."
